"I am an Apprentice Electrician at Elemental Energy, and will get my JW card within the year," Reyn shares. "I work equal parts on both the commercial and residential installation team, focusing on building aesthetically pleasing systems that work. What I love about my job is that it is a perfect balance of tactile and mental work. Each system is unique with its physical/design limitations, and it is my job to solve the three dimensional puzzle in real time."

The Pacific Northwest Spirit: Work Hard, Play Hard

When he's not solving these three-dimensional puzzles on rooftops across Portland, Reyn embodies the adventurous spirit that makes Oregon special. You might find him backpacking through our stunning wilderness, fly-fishing in crystal-clear streams, or catching waves along the Oregon coast with his two pups and partner by his side. In the winter months, he trades his surfboard for cross-country skis, making the most of our region's diverse outdoor playground.

Creativity Beyond Solar

Reyn's problem-solving skills and creative mindset extend well beyond his work in solar installation. His latest project? Building a tiny-house art studio on wheels in his backyard. "We're creating a dedicated space for our various crafting interests," he explains, showing the same innovative thinking he brings to every solar installation.

Like many Portlanders, Reyn deeply appreciates our city's vibrant culture. "We love to take advantage of our urban environment, going out to see live music and eating out way too much at all of the amazing restaurants in Portland," he shares.
