Job Description:
- The work schedule is 10 hour days, Monday through Thursday, starting at 7am daily.
- Be an ambassador of Elemental Energy and exhibit professionalism and excellency when interacting with both your colleagues and our Service, Residential and Commercial clients.
- Practice an unwavering 'safety first' mentality. Lead by example, and recognize and mitigate safety concerns before they arise.
- Provide troubleshooting, repairs, reinstallations etc for service clients, including communications & commissioning services.
- Determine materials, equipment, tools and installation sequences necessary to maximize installation quality and efficiency. Collaborate with journeyman electricians and project managers as needed.
- Assemble and install solar mounts, racking, microinverters and modules as specified per plans.
- Apply weather sealant to flashings and all other building penetrations to prevent leaks.
- Inventory vehicle materials and tools on a regular basis so you always have what you need when you need it.
- Focus on quality, aesthetics and code-compliance with regard to solar Installation.
- Service, troubleshoot, remove and reinstall PV systems as necessary.
- Commission systems and solar monitors as needed.
- Construct micro/optimizer maps and upload to an online folder for system monitoring.
- Communicate with the Service Manager about the status of the job and projected timeline.
- Communicate any delays, complications, and on site concerns to the Service Manager as they arise on sites.
- Complete Energy Trust of Oregon’s remote verification (take pictures of installation).
- Occasional overnight travel required
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience with hands on solar installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Experience with steep roofs, safety harnesses, ropes, and lifts
- Experience dealing with both AC and DC solar systems. Battery systems are a plus too.
- Familiarity with NEC code requirements
- Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams
- Ability to track billable hours and parts across multiple jobsites on any given shift
- Self-starter able to work independently and troubleshoot through the unknown technical issues that arise on any given job.
- Strong customer service & communication skills
- Consistent communication to customers & project management staff, as well as thorough documentation habits across each job
- Valid Drivers license and clean driving record
- Safety and Technical Certifications are a plus (OSHA 10, LRT, LRE for an example)
Wages & Benefits:
- $35 - $40 an hour
- 80 hours of Paid Time Off, to begin accrual on a bi-weekly basis after 90 day probationary period (Escalates to 120 at year 3, 160 at year 5)
